Hello and welcome to multipik. I'm going to show you guys how to reset Chromecast? If you have the first generation or the second generation they both work exactly. The same way in regards to doing a factory reset now if you look at your google chrome cast. You'll see a reset button so in the second generation, you can see a button right here. And on the first generation, you can see that the reset button is over here. Okay, so you got two of these buttons now the thing is the only thing. What we need to do is give it power so you have a USB plug you need to plug this into a USB outlet to give this power.
You can also have it plugged into your TV while you're doing
this. If you wish so even if you have the Homeports plugged in as well as
the USB port donor. You got to do is press and hold the reset button for 10
seconds okay or you can just pull this out of your TV. And we can go ahead and
just give it power just simply by the USB port. Here and now that reset button
on here what you want to do is you want to press and hold this for about 10
seconds. Until you see a white LED light so let me do this let me go ahead and
you can see the lights on here.
Right now let me go ahead and press and hold both these
reset buttons here. Okay ready 1 2 3, I'm going to press and hold you can see
the red and the orange there let me wait till it turns. White there it is now I
can let go now it is the factory reset now what I’m going to do is go ahead and
plug it into my TV. And we're going to go through the setup process ok alright. How to reset Chromecast? So I'm on my
TV right now and I'm getting ready to plug in my chrome cast device. I'm simply
going to use the HDMI cable here and plug it in the back of my HDMI port. The same
as must cable here I'm going to plug this directly in the back of my USB port
in the back of my TV. Now if you don't have an open USB port on your TV or don't have
a port. You can simply use a wall outlet to connect the USB cable to give it
power as well. So let me go ahead and plug this into my TV okay so my chrome cast
is hooked up to my TV.
Now so I'm going to grab my remote and I'm going to press on input or source to make sure. That it does on a correct HDMI port you can see that I have HDMI too. It's highlighted so obviously that is where my Google chrome cast is I'm going to press on entering give it a second here. And now you can see the welcome screen and it says the get started download Google home app on your phone or tablet okay. So I have a device here this is an iPhone 7 here and I'm going to go ahead and go to the Apple Play Store. If you have an Android phone you want to go to the Google Play Store. How to reset Chromecast? And then what we're going to look for is Google home type in Google home look for Google home. Go ahead and download it. And the only difference between setting up using an iPhone versus an Android with an iPhone. You will have to not only connect your Wi-Fi network. But you will also have to enable your Bluetooth for us to connect with an Android phone. You only need the Wi-Fi network alights the Google home just download it. Let me go ahead and open up the app its right here and let me make sure that Idol has my Bluetooth on as well.
So let me go into settings here and I do have Bluetooth on
you can see right here. How to reset
Chromecast? Now let me go back to my Google home right here and then from
here says. Welcome to Google home I want to tap on accept they’re looking for
devices. And now chrome cast was found in the found chrome cast six nine zero.
This is this one right here so I'm going to go ahead and click on continue all
right so it says successfully connect it. And then Alice says do you see a code
on your TV the t9e eight. I do it’s right here so I'm going to go ahead and
click on I see it and I am in these I'm going to click on continue. And from
here you can rename your chrome cast. Something else if it's like in the living
room or a particular bedroom.
I’m just going to leave it up the default the chrome cast
six nine zero. I'm going to click on continue and now we have to select the
Wi-Fi network. It's not going to readable to find a Wi-Fi network via an iOS device without Bluetooth enabled. So you have to enable the Bluetooth and
from here I actually hooked up my second-generation. So I can hook up to my two-point four or five-point o gigahertz Wi-Fi network. If you have the first
generation you only have the two-point four. So for example here's my Wi-Fine
work right here it doesn't say five gigahertz on the end. So I know this is a
2.4 if I stroll down here I should be able to find my 5 gigahertz. Which is
right here someone's going to go with that one. I'm going to click on now I'm going
to enter my password. Now let's connected to my Wi-Fi I give it second here all
right well from here it says ready to cast.

plugged into the HDMI into your TV. However, it doesn’t matter but if you do

the white blinking light here I'm going to go ahead and press and hold. The

How Do I Reset My Chromecast To A New Wifi Connection?
Hey, guys in this article, I'm going to be walking you
through how to reset my Chromecast to
a new wifi connection. There are actually several steps that we need to walk through. They don't make it super simple but you should be able to
accomplish your goals here by following the step by step this tutorial. So I'm
going to assume you already have the Google home application. if you’ve run
your Chromecast is prior it should look something like this. So what we’re
going to do is launch the Google home application that'll take you to the
homepage of the Google Home app. Then you have to find your Chromecast device
former it's located in the living room and it’s the living room TV. So I'm
going to go ahead and click on that and then once I’m on this page. I need to
click the little gear settings in the upper right-hand corner of this little guy
right here. So I'm going to open up that and then that takes us to the device
settings and about halfway down. You can see what Wi-Fi router that you're
hooked into and whether you're changing the password of your current Wi-Fi
router or switching to a new one. Either way, you're gonna make to forget this
network and then reset up your Chromecast.
So that's what I’m going to walk you through here clicking
on the Wi-Fi area and then it says are you sure you want to forget this network
and again make sure that you want to do this. Because once this is done then we
have to walk through the steps of resetting up that Chromecast which will take
a little bit of time. How do I reset my Chromecast
to a new wifi connection? So I'm going to go ahead and click forget the network
and then that boots us back to the home page of the Google home application. So
at this point just drag down the screen all the way until you get the little
refresh things showing up there right below. Where it says home and then let go
of the screen so that your Google home application can refresh itself so for I
had to pull down and refresh this page a few times before it finally said setup
one device that's going to be the Chromecast. That we are setting up at this
point and it should be right at the top of the home page of the Google home
application. So I'm going to go ahead and click on it set up one device and
then you’re going to choose a home that the Chromecast is located in and click
Next and then it will look for devices for a little bit of time.
So then it's going to make nearby devices that you can hook
up here in there Chromecast is. It does show itself. So we're going to go ahead
and click on Chromecast then Living room TV and then click on next and then it is connected to Chromecast. This will take again a little bit of time and then it
says it’s connected and then it's going to ask you if the code that you
currently see on your phone is the same one that you see on your television. That's
being put out there by your Chromecast. So just make sure that those line-ups and then go ahead and click yes and then agree to the illegal terms and then if
you want to help improve Chromecast or not.
You can make that decision for yourself and then at this point you can finally select which Wi-Fi connection that you want to hook into and whether you’re just changing the password of your current Wi-Fi connection or switching over to another one. So I'm going to stick with the same one here 10 to 22 and then click Next and then it's going to connect you to that Wi-Fi connection and then finally it says that it is connected and you can choose where the device is located for me. That's going to be my living room and then click next and then if you want at this point you can link your Chromecast to your Google account. How do I reset my Chromecast to a new wifi connection? I'm going to just skip this, for now, you can also set up your Google assistant with your Chromecast. I'm going to click next you can link radio services. I’m going to do not know you can link video services. Again I'm going to skip that you can link TV services again. I'm going to skip that and finally, it says we are all done we're hooked up with our Chromecast. Our living room hooked into that Wi-Fi connection so I'm going to go ahead and click continue and at this point, the setup should be complete. So again, guys, it’s a rather involved process but if you follow this step-by-step tutorial you should be able to change or switch up the needed Wi-Fi settings to get your Chromecast working again. I hope that this article was helpful.
